PHOTOSHOP ACTIONS
People are always asking how to use actions in Photoshop so as well as including this topic in our Photoshop course I will post a tutorial here for your reading pleasure.
This tutorial is designed for Photoshop Cs3 which you can download from adobe.com.
Installing Photoshop Actions
A simple search on Google will lead you to many sites where you can download actions. This tutorial assumes that you already have an action file (action files usually end with the .atn extension)
- Hold the “Alt” key & Press “F9″ to open the Actions palette.
- Click on the black dropdown arrow (pointed to by my bright green arrow)

- Click “load actions…” from the menu that pops up.
- Browse to the action and click load. (If you don’t know how to browse using windows then you might want to consider a basic computer training course at Londontech Training.
Using a Photoshop Action
Using an is like using a VCR or Dvd Player. Very simple.
- Open the image that you will be using the action on.
- Select the action you want to use (by clicking on it in the actions palette)
It will become highlighted Dark Blue.

- Press the play button (at the bottom of the actions palette)
- And we’re done….please feel free to comment.
